Vintage Peruvian Folk Art Hand Carved Dried Gourd Storytelling

Description

Vintage - probably 1970s - Peruvian folk art hand crafted dried gourd squash / calabash with intricate carvings throughout- scenes of people and animals, and village scenes, animals -llamas, owl, wolf, vicunas, perhaps. At every turn it is a different scene. Very intricate and beautifully done.
Elements of the natural gourd (uneven surfaces, etc.) are incorporated into the design.
Approximately 6.5" diameter and 5" tall.
In very good vintage preowned condition.
