    Description

    U.S.Scott #26-1857 3c Washington, type III. The stamp is fresh mint, never hinged (!) sound, with centering & margins as shown in the scan. A couple tiny spots of gum disturbance are noted at bottom. Current Scott catalogue value is .00 for hinged, Scott does not list NH prices for these early stamps as they are rarely found, but later 19th century stamps are generally listed at 3 times the hinged price for NH (so 5.00 for this stamp).
