We use Fedex Freight.  The cost is a little higher but pallet after pallet Fedex Freight Handles for us, they provide a higher level of service and better handling of our and our customers merchandise.  They have proved themselves over and over.
Please do not sign Bill of Lading before checking the freight.
Please look for forklift holes in the carton, tears or crushed cardboard, watermarks or other signs of mishandling.
Inspect all boxes completely – including interior boxes when shipments are palletized together. If damage is present or the item is questionable please do not sign for the shipment. If there is minor damage and you decide to accept the shipment please notate any damage on the Bill of Lading. If you decide to refuse the shipment please notate in detail the reasons for refusal on the Bill of Lading.
If you sign for the shipment, you are stating that the item(s) were perfect and will not be able to claim any damage that may have been caused by the shipping/delivery company.
