IMPERIAL PALACE HOTEL CASINO .00 "Blue" colored foil hot stamped graphics casino gaming chip
.  I acquired this chip from the Imperial Palace Casino while on a trip there 38 years ago back in 1983.
Note, most of the older Imperial Palace chips you find listed on eBay are of the "GOLD" colored foil variation.  The "BLUE" foil imprinted chips, such as this one, are rarely encountered and therefore I consider them to be more scarce and desirable.
The Imperial Palace was located on the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It opened for business in 1979 and closed 33 years later in 2012 when it was sold and became rebranded as "The Quad Resort & Casino".
This scarce casino chip is light gray in color with shiny "blue"
hot stamped
colored foil embossed graphics.  The chip measures approximately 1.50" in diameter and 2/16" thick.  The outside perimeter of the chip is stamped with the casino's name "
IMPERIAL
" across the top half and "
PALACE
" across the bottom half separated on both sides by the Imperial Palace logos.  Both sides of the chip are imprinted and embossed exactly the same.  Please refer to the description photos for more details about what I have described.
The chip looks to be in fair condition for its age but would still display nicely in anyone's collection.  Overall, the chips surface has some light to moderate smudging from being handled over the years and the blue foil has thinned or wore off on some spots of the chip's center due to honest wear.
