    Description

This portrait is restored from an Illinois Central 1920's era print of the Panama Limited. It is printed on gloss cardstock photo paper with Canon inks guaranteed for 100 years without fading
The Illinois Central followed the Mississippi River to connect the midwest’s industrial and corn belt states to the Southern Ports. It was known as the “Main-Line of the Midwest”. Famous for its Engineer “Casey Jones” and Arlo Guthrie’s folk tune “City of New Orleans”, the IC evokes the golden era of rail travel. It later merged with the Gulf Mobile and Ohio to become Illinois Central Gulf and later part of the Canadian National system.
Text reads: "IC Panama Limited on Illinois Central Four Track Roadway near Chicago, Ill." The Panama Limited was one of the finest passenger trains in the US. It made the trip from Chicago and St. Louis to New Orleans non-stop through the evening. It was known for its fine dining, particularly the multi-course “King’s Dinner”."
This poster comes framed in an 11"x17" frame with solid plastic trim with a glass cover and we ship it, so it won't break in transit. Any watermark is only on website photos and not placed on our final prints.
