For auction is a beautiful print of a pencil sketch of Fort Pulaski, located on the Savannah River outside of Savannah, Georgia. Built in 1829 to shore up the coastal defenses of the US, the Fort was named after Count Casimir Pulaski, a member of the Polish royal family, who fought with the US during the revolution against Britain. The Fort was a Confederate defense post during the US Civil War until its capture by Union troops during the war. This was the first posting for Robert E. Lee upon his graduation from the US Military Academy at West Point. The print is by then-Atlanta artist Ralph J. Mitchell and was drawn in the late 1970s. It was signed by the artist in the early 1980s when I acquired it

in the early 1980s when I acquired it. The print measures appx 11 x 8 1/2 inches and is on high quality moderate weight stock. It is
UNUSED and in excellent condition
- no rips or tears, no spills or smears, no writing or markings. It has been stored for over 25 years and has never been framed.
