Bachmann has completely redesigned and reworked their N scale GP40s for 2018. New all metal split-frame chassis, new motor w/ flywheel, new gearing, new body tooling, body mounted EZ knuckle couplers on both front and rear. All wheel drive and all wheel electrical pickup. These locos are smooth, quiet runners with great slow speed performance. The top end speed on these locos is initially a bit on the slow side (approx 35 scale MPH) but after a bit of break-in running the top end speed increases. A little oil/grease and some break-in time is all they need.
