8mm Home Movie Film ~ 1959 PORSCHE DIESEL Tractors / Homemade Promo Film

Description

Here is a rare 200 ft 8mm home movie that was filmed back in 1959 based on one of the the homemade inter-titles seen in the film. Written on the film canister is "14 Minutes Porsche Diesel".
By the looks of things this looks like a homemade promotional film made by an Easton, PA Porsche Dealer / Distributor who even drove a beautiful 1959 Convertible Porsche. The film shows demonstrations of Porsche tractors throughout rural Pennsylvania and even shows one of their tractors in a tractor pull contest at a county fair.

I also saw a banner for the "PLAINFIELD FARMER'S FAIR" located in Nazareth, PA where you can see a tractor pull event including the Porsche tractor and other tractors.
Between 1956 and 1963 over 125,000 Porsche-Diesel tractors were produced, many of them still in daily operation on farms and ranches all over the world.
In this time frame American Porsche-Diesel Corporation, 808 Packer Street, Easton, PA, sold approximately 1,000 Porsche-Diesel tractors in North America. Most of the tractors were sold at that time on the East Coast of the USA and Canada. A brand new Junior could be bought for about ,750 and a Super for about ,600. Very few Standards and Masters were sold due to a problem of being price competitive with U.S. made tractors.
The film appears to be in great condition for its age with no issues that I could see.
