    Description

This is a packaged set of 16 lithograph prints entitled, "Views of the Overland Route: 16 Full Color Kodachrome Views".  The folder interior reads, "This folio contains 16 full color kodachrome views of interesting scenes along the Southern Pacific Overland Route.  These attractive scenes are suitable for framing".  The set is marked as "Litho in U.S.A. - Alex Dulfer Lithographing Co, San Francisco".  It is not dated but my research indicates it was produced around 1950 and sold at train depots and to passengers aboard Southern Pacific trains.
The Overland Route was a train route operated by the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroads between Council Bluffs, Iowa/ Omaha Nebraska and San Francisco starting in 1869.  Later, the line was from Chicago to California.  Popularity of the scenic route declined after World War II and it was shut down in 1962.
    The enclosed lithographs include:

-Morman Temple and Capital of the State of Utah, Salt Lake City lithograph
