OVERVIEW:
This 1946 Indian Chief is freshly
restored from
all original parts
. The sheet metal is original and was prepared by a quality restorer. Engine and power plant is all new and built by a knowledgeable Classic Indian builder.
This motorcycle is not painted in a standard Indian color for the year because the original supporter of the build wanted it to be this color which is technically correct because it is a Dupont paint color.  The bike has  just been completed and needs break-in mileage of the powerplant and a technical survey of all connections after a 250-mile break in.
This 1946 Indian Chief is a matching number motorcycle with a clean California Title.
Seller is a known restorer and painter. He will repaint the bike in any 1946 Indian color for a buyer for an additional fee.
MILEAGE:
Zero mileage currently on the bike. It is in need of appropriate break-in mileage.
PAINT:
The paint is professionally applied after correct prep work by a master craftsman. It is of excellent quality. The color is a Dupont color which is allowed by Indian on special order. The seller will repaint the bike in any 1946 Indian color for a buyer for an additional fee.
SHEET METAL:
All original sheet metal with correct fabrication/restoration of the original tin by a master craftsman restorer. All original sheet metal is in perfect condition.
CHROME:
All chrome-work is new by a quality chrome shop.
MECHANICAL:
This powerplant is standard bore and all new. Built by a knowledgeable classic Indian builder. The bike has just a few miles on it and is in need of a correct 250-mile break in. The bike was started and ridden into the judging area at Dixon CA to validate its abilities when it received the Junior first score.
